I’ve determined that Boredom is one of the three leading causes of Adorable Offspring morphing occasionally into Miserable Monsters.
In my 30+ years of parenting and Grandparenting, I've tracked the effects meticulously, and concluded beyond doubt that Boredom is the worst of the three, edging out Tired and Hungry for 1st Place.
So I try to treat it like a deadly communicable disease, with appropriate precautions and immediate antidotes available at all times.
And instant bubble therapy is happily one of my favorites...
Bubble Your Way to a Fresh Perspective
One of my favorites cures for Boredom Battles is the instant relief from the guaranteed magic of bubble toys. I find that I don’t have to fear falling into or managing an angry outburst if I just whip out a bottle of bubbles that flips an instant switch to curious wonder.
I especially like that I also get engrossed by the shiny floating orbs - they cure my boredom too! And the bubble wands have now been well-engineered so even the littlest hands can manage to make them un-aided, as well as high performance features for engaging older kids.
The Plusses of Spill-Proof Bubbling
My favorite brand are Little Kids, who in 1993 introduced their spill-proof bubble containers that solved the biggest bubble product problem of sticky messes, and immediately "turned the bubble category upside down."
The Little Kids line of toys has grown over the years to include a variety of no-spill bubble toys. So in addition to the classic No-Spill® Tumblers, we also have the multi-player No-Spill® Big or Mini Bubble Bucket® that solves the second problem of sharing and managing soap supplies for a few kids.
And now there are packs of 12 No-Spill® Bubble Tumbler Minis® which are great - because you can scatter them in every place where there is risk of a Boredom Breakout [kitchen, your home office, car, backpack, bathroom].
I particularly recommend to buy bubble toys online, since I find that none of the retail stores have more than a model or two, and they focus primarily on the BO-SLS [Battery Operated Sound & Light Show] types , which appear to get mostly ‘awful’ reviews after purchase.
So I’ve sourced the hard-to-find original classics for you in my GrandGifting Amazon Shop - Bubbles for fun here - as well as a variety of licensed versions featuring Blue's CluesTM, Dora the ExplorerTM, SpongeBob SquarePantsTM, and OLIVIATM, should you prefer them.
And although I usually find 'BO-SLS' toys less enchanting, this particular Glow in the Dark motorized Bubble Light is very cool, and gets great reviews.
Fast Acting Antidote
I love using bubble makers to make a fast escape from Boredom Battles – leaving the Boredom Bully to sulk as nerve endings refresh with bubble magic.

Wow, I'm impressed with the thought put into every product on this site, even down to the BUBBLES! Honestly, I hadn't had any luck with bubbles from Toys R Us but hadn't though to research such a small item online. I love that you've even looked through all the reviews for us! My mom (Rohan's GrandMom) had brought us a bottle from a dollar store in Canada that had a genius no-spill top, but I couldn't find it here. Now thanks to you I know what to get! Brilliant...
